Job Description

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics, related quantitative discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience in Python or R.
  • Experience in data management systems.

Preferred qualifications:

  • PhD in Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics.
  • Experience in data science with a focus on marketing analytics, statistical modeling, machine learning, forecasting, and optimization.
  • Experience with big data and cloud platforms to deploy large-scale data science solutions.
  • Knowledge of media and the statistical algorithms typically used in marketing analytics.

As a Marketing Data Scientist, you'll work closely with our clients to produce innovative and actionable quantitative models and analyses to address the challenges of marketing effectiveness, return on investment and prediction. The Global Premium Services team generates scalable solutions to help our Sales teams and advertisers globally. We work with Sales, Product, and Engineering teams within Google to develop better tools and services to improve our products based on the evolving needs of our users. As a cross-functional and global team, it's our job to help keep the lights on and the ads relevant.

Responsibilities

  • Support complex customer engagements with data science solutions as well as accurate predictions of future activities.
  • Support critical aspects of customer engagements in marketing effectiveness and marketing portfolio management.
  • Translate, simplify, and communicate with business stakeholders using models, in the simplest and most practical ways to improve business and other critical metrics.
  • Deliver effective presentations of findings and recommendations to multiple levels of stakeholders, creating visual displays of quantitative information.
  • Manage challenges, concerns, or opportunities from projects related to scope, ongoing maintenance, complexity and contacts. Improve internal processes and consult changes in external business partner or customer processes.
