Job Description

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in software development, and with data structures/algorithms.
• 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products, and 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
• 3 years of experience with ML-based audio signal-processing.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
• 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional or cross-business projects.
• Experience with ML-for-dereverberation implementations.
• Experience with audio quality assessment (both electro-acoustic and human-listener/psychoacoustic assessments).
• Experience in the development of realtime, low-latency, resource-limited audio/ML-processing pipelines.

In this role, you will you help to maintain and improve our existing audio technology, and contribute to the design and implementation of new subsystems and novel technologies within our audio pipeline, with a particular focus on developing customized ML processing/models/algorithms for our product.

As part of the Project Starline team, you'll work with researchers and engineers in a fast-paced product-oriented environment. Our teams collaborate closely with Google Workspace and Research teams. Your contributions will have an impact on the future of communications with Google products. You will apply technology to solve that really important problem that we often want to be together and we can’t.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $185,000-$283,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

• Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
• Own (design, implement, test/validate) key subsystems of ML-for-audio signal processing pipeline.
• Contribute actively to the planning and design for the overall audio roadmap.
• Identify and drive forward cross-functional opportunities/interactions with special focus on ML development.
• Drive the product innovation and reliability forward (better quality, novel processing, bug triage/mitigation, etc.).
