Job Description

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 10 years of experience in a Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A), Accounting, or Sales Finance role or experience in financial planning, data modeling, corporate strategy, or consulting.

Preferred qualifications:

• MBA or relevant Master's degree
• Experience in the subscription business, storage business, or the photos or video space.
• Ability to build, lead, and develop high performing teams with experience of having scaled a finance function in line with business growth.
• Excellent analytical skills, combined with impeccable business judgment and ability to communicate effectively with management.
• Organized, strategically focused, detail oriented, and able to thrive in change and ambiguity with confidence/conviction to have an opinion and advocate for “the right thing to do for the business and Google”.

You are both a manager and a mentor, providing financial leadership and analytical support to partners of the core Finance team as well as giving your own team the support they need to become financial experts. You'll keep management informed on key financial metrics and work to improve financial operation practices throughout your region.

The goal of Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) is to create financial insights that make Google better by unpacking business problems to reveal opportunities, manage risk, and steward scarce resources. Our team applies this mission to Photos in coordination with the cross-finance and cross-functional teams.

You will play a leading role in helping to establish and manage the long-term financial trajectory of Google Photos. You will model business scenarios and track performance metrics to ensure sustainable growth in the context of the profit and loss (P&L), which will be used by our leaders to make strategic product and business decisions.

The name Google came from googol, a mathematical term for the number 1 followed by 100 zeros. And nobody at Google loves big numbers like the Finance team when providing in depth analysis on all manner of strategic decisions across Google products. From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.

Responsibilities

• Provide analytical insight and influence decisions on profit and loss and long-term financial trajectory, user acquisition, and efficient use of resources.
• Build growth and cost models for new and existing initiatives including consumer storage business, printing business, and technical infrastructure costs and provide a uniquely finance perspective.
• Keep stakeholders informed on key financial metrics. Design/build/refine the necessary financial infrastructure to manage day-to-day operations, and articulate risks to Product and Finance management teams.
• Manage and mentor a team of financial analysts, fostering a growth mindset and providing the appropriate level of oversight, coaching and direct involvement in agenda setting.
• Inform the economics and risk management of long-term investments and partnerships. Plan, forecast, and report on financial statements, grounded in business drivers, and key performance indicators.
