Job Description

Minimum qualifications:

  • PhD in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in NLP, NLU, Machine Learning, LLMs, or similar areas.
  • Experience contributing to research communities including publishing in forums.
  • Experience in programming languages (e.g., Python or C/C++).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in innovative research.
  • Experience working with a research team.
  • Experience in coding.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity.

Responsibilities

  • Work on multilingual natural language processing for low resource languages projects.
  • Develop multilingual Large Language Models (LLMs) for South East Asia. Build on existing/in-development datasets, and also add several additional resources.
  • Draw on text and audio sources, and integrate acoustic embeddings and grapheme to phoneme conversion.
  • Create novel evaluation datasets, compile existing datasets, and incorporate new resources (e.g., parallel datasets, multilingual lexicons).
  • Develop algorithms for LLM training and evaluation.
