Job Description

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 1 year of experience working with foundries on process integration
  • Experience with semiconductor wafer processing, including dry and wet etch, metal and dielectric film deposition, planarization, and characterization tools
  • Experience with data analysis software

Preferred qualifications:

  • MS degree or PhD in Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Physics or related technical field
  • 5 years of experience working with foundries on process integration
  • Experience with emerging technology process development, including superconducting devices and photonics
  • Background in design of experiments and statistical data analysis, with experience in statistical process control (SPC) and assessing manufacturability
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

In this role you will develop and integrate foundry microfabrication processes needed to support our quantum processor roadmap. You will collaborate closely with fabrication, design, and architecture teams to identify new capabilities, evaluate potential options, and drive development from concept through integration. You will also support existing foundry processes, including maintaining documentation, performing analysis of inline fabrication and e-test data, and driving yield improvement.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $119,000-$175,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Represent foundry platforms when identifying and scoping new process capabilities for processor architecture development
  • Develop foundry frontend and backend wafer processes, including establishing process requirements, creating experimental plans, and coordinating development with partners
  • Statistical analysis of inline process data and electrical test for both process and yield characterization
  • Support creation of data pipelines for automated process data transfer and storage.
  • Maintain foundry process documentation, including specifications, design rules, and application notes
