Job Description

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Candidates will typically have 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
• Candidates will typically have 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms.
• Experience in Cloud AI/Machine Learning systems and tools (Kaggle, TensorFlow, Pytorch etc.).

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with memory and performance profiling on embedded devices.
• Experience with machine learning infrastructure.
• Knowledge in one or more of the following system components, interfaces, and protocols on embedded devices such as touch, display, camera, audio, cellular, wi-fi, bluetooth, network protocols, power and battery, system performance, multimedia, or sensors
• Knowledge of operating systems and concurrency.

Responsibilities

• Build and optimize embedded machine learning models on the Pixel and Fitbit fitness trackers.
• Collaborate with health research teams to develop and productionize new health and fitness technologies.
• Maintain and support in-market machine learning models to deliver improvements to existing algorithms.
• Collaborate on integration of embedded machine learning algorithms with UI, platform, backend, and other cross--functional teams.
• Develop and maintain machine learning infrastructure for automated data quality evaluation, training, validation, and model safety.
