Job Description

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Engineering, Physics, Economics, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience using analytics to solve product or business problems, performing statistical analysis, and coding (e.g., Python, R, SQL), or 5 years of experience with an advanced degree.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Engineering, Physics, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
  • Experience with statistical software (e.g., R, Python) and database languages (e.g. SQL).
  • Experience in identifying opportunities for product improvement and defining/measuring the success of those initiatives.
  • Experience in developing models, statistical and causal inference, and classification methods.
  • Experience working with Engineers and Product Managers, providing product-centric insights.
  • Understanding of video conferencing and general WebRTC topics.

You relish tallying up the numbers one minute and communicating your findings to a team leader the next. In this this role, you will directly partner with Senior and Director-level Engineering Leads to use data to drive improvements in video and audio quality across the Google Meet conference and calling stacks.

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Work closely with stakeholders in Product Management, Engineering, and Operation teams to define performance goals, KPIs, and other success measurements.
  • Work with large, complex internal data sets. Solve difficult, non-routine analysis problems, applying advanced analytical methods as needed.
  • Act as thought partner to produce insights and metrics for various technical and business stakeholders across the Video and Workspace teams.
  • Deliver effective presentations of findings and recommendations to multiple levels of leadership, creating visual displays of quantitative information.
  • Collaborate with the Engineering team to ensure infrastructure supports key analyses.
