Job Description

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in software development, and with data structures/algorithms.
  • 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products, and 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
  • Experience with 3D Graphics, C++, Rendering Pipeline, etc.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • 5 years of experience in multiplayer game development, virtual reality, high performance programming and/or game debugging.
  • 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
  • 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, and/or cross-business projects.
  • Experience working on multi-platform software projects and leading engineering efforts.
  • Experience working on game engines or rendering solutions.

Through Immersive Stream for Games, we’re also making our infrastructure and tools available to developers and publishers who want to build their own interactive streaming platforms, and deliver their games directly to their customers. We aim to grow the industry across gaming and other interactive streaming applications.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and land critical parts of the Stadia Game Infrastructure team's mandate with a focus on high-quality for end-users and developers for Stadia/Stream.
  • Deliver developer tools and APIs that enable external and internal developers to keep the highest quality streaming experience.
  • Lead development of Frame Pacing solutions, Present Modes, Stadia Gamelet Overlays, and surrounding tools.
  • Optimize and rework code to improve users streaming experience. Improve code quality, documentation and testing procedures. Verify functionality and facilitate debugging with unit tests and analytics.
  • Work with Program Managers and testers.
