Job Description

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a Legal, Policy, or Technology field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years of experience in content moderation, developer support, policy enforcement, customer support, or policy creation.
  • Experience in business strategy and/or operations consulting or similar.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Ability to lead stakeholders and drive consensus across all experience levels (e.g. junior stakeholders to VPs).
  • Ability to ramp up quickly and learn the workflow in detail, and connect the dots to understand the big picture. Ability to anticipate the risk in advance, and advocate for putting right solutions by themselves.
  • Ability to function well in high-pressure situations
  • Interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to work successfully in cross-functional teams, including with stakeholders and executives.
  • Bias towards action and challenging the status quo to build more effective and efficient incident management functions.

Trust & Safety team members are tasked with identifying and taking on the biggest problems that challenge the safety and integrity of our products. They use technical know-how, excellent problem-solving skills, user insights, and proactive communication to protect users and our partners from abuse across Google products like Search, Maps, Gmail, and Google Ads. The Trust and Safety team reduces risk and protects the experience of our users and business partners in more than 40 languages and across Google's expanding base of products.

In this role, you will work with a variety of teams from Engineering to Legal, Public Policy, and Sales Engineering to set policies and combat fraud and abuse in a scalable way.

You will respond to all Play related incidents, manage them appropriately, and provide data to support Trust and Safety executives to make the right decision.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a brand new appeals workflow through working closely with Policy Development, Product, Enforcement, Analytics, Tools, and Business Development team to enable SDK developers and achieve a safe app experience in Google Play ecosystem.
  • Manage developer appeals operations and improve developer experiences through insights gained from appeals.
  • Manage sensitive escalations and resolve policy related questions for Trust and Safety, Google Play, and Android operations
  • Support Trust and Safety and Google Play-wide policy launches and Trust and Safety initiatives to ensure a safe app experience. Lead deep-dive and root cause analyses to identify operational gaps and work with Policy development, Enforcement, Engineering, Product and Tools to optimize our workflows.
  • Perform on-call responsibilities on a rotating basis including weekend coverage as needed. Review or be exposed to sensitive content.
