Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience working in marketing analytics.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience connecting multiple data sources and building dashboards in data visualization tools (e.g., Data Studio).
  • Experience with digital owned & operated and traditional media analytics (e.g., email, social, etc.).
  • Experience working on and owning complex measurement projects with the ability to think, plan, and execute on multiple projects at once, in a fast-paced global environment.
  • Knowledge of technical systems like BigQuery, SQL, and building API connectors.
  • Understanding of key inputs and drivers of statistical models and data science.
  • Understanding of digital owned and operated and traditional media strategies and analytics (e.g., email, social, etc.).

About the job

Whether you're on a consumer product (like Gmail, Search, Maps, Chrome, Android) or a business product (Google Ads, AdSense, Google Marketing Platform, Analytics), you take part in a complete marketing experience as you lead every facet of the product's journey. From determining positioning, naming, competitive analysis, feature prioritization and external communications, you help shape the representation of the product and help it grow a consumer base. This means you work with a cross-functional team across Sales, corporate communications, legal, webmasters, product development, engineering and more. In this role, you'll be involved with product marketing strategy from beginning to end.

As the Trend and Insights Analyst you will drive measurement, analysis, and testing initiatives supporting global and regional marketing programs. You will directly analyze large datasets (first and third-party), and design/perform statistical analyses that continuously improve our process efficiency and campaign impact. In collaboration with a multidisciplinary team of marketing, product management, analytics, and engineers, you will tap into the underlying data, align on key metrics/methodologies and generate insights that enable marketers to develop valuable, highly effective programs.

You understand how valuable Trend data can be in observing people’s evolving perception and Shopping/Travel behaviors, and you will leverage insights to help teams make informed decisions on marketing strategies and program tactics. You also have some knowledge of extract, transform, and load (ETL) strategies and can query databases to bring different sets of data together into a single visualization.

  • Manage a team of contractor analysts, helping to guide efforts in order to best align with strategic business goals and assist in refining team processes to build bespoke measurement tools.
  • Conduct analytics to spot trends and inform marketing opportunities, and build tools for ongoing analytics and trend spotting across key moments throughout the year.
  • Help track and quantify Shopping and Travel marketing’s impact on core marketing and business goals, while assisting in the continuous improvement of impact measurement methodologies.
  • Accelerate speed to insights for timely decision-making by identifying opportunities to uncover learnings and inform where and how to invest resources.
  • Serve as a person of contact at Shopping/Travel for cross-functional teams for all things analytics and infrastructure, managing, and streamlining analytics data sources and vendors.
