Job Description

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 4 years of experience designing, building, and deploying scalable cloud-based solution architectures.
• Experience in writing software in one or more languages, such as Python, Go, JavaScript, Java, C++ or similar.
• Experience implementing data services, including storage, integration, and APIs.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience automating infrastructure provisioning, DevOps, and/or continuous integration/delivery.
• Experience working with data management systems (NoSQL, OLTP, OLAP) including technical architectures, infrastructure components, reporting/analytics environments, API endpoints.
• Experience working with Media organizations, developing and architecting cloud based systems.
• Working knowledge of common open source server side infrastructure such as Docker, Kubernetes, MySQL, Cassandra, Hadoop/Spark, NGINX, RabbitMQ, Jenkins, OpenAPI/Swagger, etc.
• Knowledge of containerization and technologies like Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), and Anthos or other Hybrid Cloud technologies.
• Familiarity with standard IT security practices like identity and access management, data protection, encryption, certificate and key management.

As a Strategic Cloud Engineer on the team, you will provide technical guidance to Google Cloud Platform's largest and most strategic customers adopting Google Cloud Platform services across all industries.

You'll provide application design guidance to modernize existing applications or write entirely new applications. You will collaborate with external customers on new application design and implementation including application scaling, reliability, and ongoing operations such as application and feature rollouts monitoring and more. Additionally, you will work closely with Product Management and Product Engineering to build and constantly drive excellence in our products.

Responsibilities

• Work with customers to design cloud based technical architectures, migration approaches, and application optimizations that enable mission objectives.
• Be a technical advisor and perform troubleshooting to resolve technical challenges for customers.
• Create and deliver best practices recommendations, tutorials, blog posts, and sample code.
• Travel up to 10% of the time as needed.
