Job Description

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
  • 15 years of professional experience, including 12 years of experience in software engineering building technical products and services.
  • Experience with developer-facing products (i.e., APIs, integrated development environments, SaaS platforms, internal infrastructure).
  • Experience managing global teams and working with cross-functional partners.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 20 years of professional experience in a software engineering role.
  • Experience building products, with data science, and ML Operations.
  • Experience building cross-functional relationships and driving change across organizational boundaries.
  • Understanding of the software development lifecycle and DevOps practices, including analysis/design, APIs, development tools/technologies, release/version control, testing methodologies, deployment management, etc.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and desire for learning with the ability to guide teams on analytics, experimentation, modeling, and machine learning methods.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain complex and technical concepts to non-technical audiences in an engaging manner.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical vision and strategy for the team, and lead a multi-year technical roadmap, balancing short and long-term technology investments.
  • Lead a distributed team of engineers ranging from fully-remote to hybrid and office environments. Develop and grow talent through mentoring, succession planning, and retention strategies in a high-growth environment.
  • Maintain operational excellence and technological advancement in delivering complex software platforms in a large-scale environment.
  • Partner with Engineering, Product Management, User Experience, and Developer Relations teams to create, drive, and deliver an innovative, compelling, and user-friendly experience across Google’s developer platforms and tools. Interface with leadership teams across Google product groups to formulate and execute joint strategies.
  • Drive collaboration across all software domains and product areas, including navigating constraints to make key launches happen successfully.
