Job Description

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 12 years of experience leading product analytic teams in a software development environment.
  • Experience with the technical aspects of analytics, data science and statistical methodologies, data management, and analytical and data visualization software tools.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree.
  • Experience working in an enterprise setting, bringing both demonstrated expertise and a understanding of the Data Management market segment and competitive dynamics/customer adoption behavior.
  • Proven experience informing product decisions through quantitative and qualitative analysis.
  • Effective leadership capabilities, and ability to motivate a team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate with both technical and business experts.

About the job

As the Head of Analytics, you will lead the Analytics team to drive the future global growth of the Databases business through data driven decision-making and key product insights. You will work cross-functionally across both the Databases organization and broader Google Cloud PAs as needed to shape the future of the Ads portfolio. You'll serve as a key leader on the Databases Strategy and Operations leadership team, a function which is broadly responsible for both crafting the strategic objectives for Databases as well as ensuring the high quality execution of the strategy. You will be working with a wide range of functions - engineering, product management, marketing, operations, and finance - to make data driven product decisions. You'll serve as a subject matter expert, trusted technical/analytical advisor across a wide range of issues to our stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Create, integrate, and maintain the right analytics tools to deliver accurate data, and extract valuable insights for our Product teams.
  • Apply analytical capabilities towards the most strategically important areas and topics across the ads business, and create linkages with the overall Ads Strategy.
  • Perform leadership consulting across the Databases organization to make data driven product decisions and find data driven product opportunities.
  • Provide thought leadership in defining, analyzing, and validating key metrics and hypotheses to inform decision-making, and measure the success of Product teams.
  • Partner with Product Managers, Developers, Data Architects, and vendors to deploy and maintain analytics that capture customer behavior.
