Job Description

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience as a sales engineer or technical consultant in a cloud computing environment or customer-facing role.
• Experience delivering technical presentations and live demonstrations in an enterprise business environment.
• Experience with big data, machine learning, and numerical programming frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, Python, MATLAB).

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with technical sales or professional consulting in the fields of cloud computing, data, information lifecycle management, and Big Data.
• Experience developing software or infrastructure for scalable, distributed systems.
• Experience building machine learning solutions and leveraging specific machine learning architectures (e.g., deep learning, LSTM, convolutional networks).
• Knowledge of cloud computing (e.g., infrastructure, storage, platforms, and data), cloud market, competitive dynamics, and customer buying behavior.

As a Customer Engineer, you will work with Technical Sales teams as a machine learning subject matter expert to differentiate Google Cloud to our customers. In this role, you will help prospective customers and partners understand the power of Google Cloud, explaining technical features, helping customers design architectures, and problem-solving any potential roadblocks. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to help customers to leverage specialized Machine Learning (ML) hardware developed by Google (e.g. Tensor Processing Unit). You will work closely with customers and product development to shape the TPU platform.

Responsibilities

• Build advisory relationships and develop integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms, and application infrastructure required to implement a complete solution providing best practice advice to optimize Google Cloud effectiveness.
• Work with cross-functional partners to identify and qualify leads and opportunities.
• Advance the relationship with our partners, empowering them to drive a pilot or proof of concept. Support driving toward customer acceptance of the technical proposal, leading to a commercial proposal and eventual agreement. Work with partners during the migration phase to assure they have the tools necessary to deliver deployment.
• Secure or influence technical wins and remove technical barriers with limited precedent to client wins, orchestrating additional resources to expand books and meet business goals.
• Develop integration and migration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms, and application infrastructure required to implement a complete solution on Google Cloud.
