Job Description

Minimum qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Organizational Behavior, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience with fundamental statistics and one or more advanced approaches using statistical languages (e.g., R).
  • Experience translating technical information for a non-technical audience.
  • Experience designing and analyzing data from surveys and experiments in applied settings.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 3 years of experience developing and implementing hiring selection and assessment tools and conducting validation studies.
  • Experience managing technical projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience maintaining global suite of assessments.
  • Experience with AI/ML technologies.
  • Excellent consulting, client management, problem-solving, and project management skills.

About the job

In this role, you will build assessments used to optimize Google hiring processes that are valid (e.g., predictive), fair, efficient, and yield positive experiences. You will be working with Industrial/Organizational Psychologists and other social science researchers to conduct research on Google hiring process, including validation studies, adverse impact, and other related research.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $110,000-$160,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Use social science research with an emphasis on Industrial and Organizational (I/O) Psychology to build assessments that optimize hiring processes.
  • Design hiring assessments for a variety of job families, conduct validation studies to demonstrate their efficacy, and influence stakeholders to encourage adoption into the hiring process.
  • Validate Google use of assistive technologies across our hiring tools and processes. Use investigative reasoning to identify problems and develop hypotheses that can be tested.
  • Design and implement new research studies, analyze data, and report on results of research initiatives to a business audience.
  • Connect disparate ideas into cohesive, well-grounded recommendations, using creative, structured, and investigative thinking. Use data visualization to help communicate ideas.
