Job Description

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience building machine learning solutions.
  • Experience coding in one or more languages: Python, Scala, Java, Go, or similar with competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design.
  • Experience working with technical customers.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 10 years of experience working with natural language, reinforcement learning, computer vision, or distributed machine learning.
  • Experience with large language models especially Transformers (BERT, BART, GPT, T5, etc) or other generative technologies like GANs, etc.
  • Understanding of various Machine Learning/Deep Learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, XGBoost.
  • Understanding of the auxiliary practical concerns in production Machine Learning systems.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts, including data warehouse technical architectures, infrastructure components, ETL/ ELT, and reporting/analytic tools and environments (e.g., Apache Beam, Hadoop, Spark, Hive).

As a Cloud AI Engineer, you will design and implement machine learning solutions for customer use cases, leveraging core Google products including TensorFlow, DataFlow, and Vertex AI. You will work with customers to identify opportunities to apply machine learning primarily Generative AI in their business, and travel to customer sites to deploy solutions and deliver workshops to educate and empower customers. Additionally, you will work closely with Product Management, Research and Product Engineering to build and constantly drive excellence in our products. Together with the team you will support customer implementation of Google Cloud products through: architecture guidance, best practices, data migration, capacity planning, implementation, troubleshooting, monitoring, and much more.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $215,000-$315,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Be a trusted technical advisor to customers and solve complex Machine Learning challenges focused on Large Language Models (LLMs).
  • Develop, train, fine-tune, and deploy large language models for various customer use cases that will be integrated with different applications.
  • Implement various levels of tuning like instruction tuning, reinforcement learning from human feedback (RLHF), and parameter efficient fine-tuning (PEFT) such as p-tuning, adapters, and LoRA to improve LLMs for different use cases.
  • Collaborate with research, product, solution architects and with various other teams to deliver a robust AI model for the customer.
  • Gather datasets for Generative AI training, evaluate the performance of large language models and make recommendations for improvement.
