About the job

The Google Cloud Finance Business Intelligence team supports the broader Google Cloud Finance organization and Google Cloud executive leadership. The team owns the long term Financial Reporting Strategy roadmap and works with Finance and Engineering partners to build stable financial reporting, advanced analytics and modeling, and automation tools, with the goal of producing accurate financials, enabling Decision Intelligence, and reducing the reporting burden on analysts.

We manage Profit and Loss for Google Cloud, directing modeling, forecasting, and automation efforts, guiding data science initiatives to advise on optimal business and Help Center resource allocation, and driving accountability. We act as integral partners and strategic advisers to the Cloud leadership team.

As a Quantitative Analyst, you will free up valuable analyst resources across Financial Planning and Analysis, and play a key role in shaping how Finance partners with Cloud executives and drives margin accountability. You will work in close partnership with Finance colleagues and consult on analytics and planning, as well as provide strategy support for hiring, go-to-market, compensation, and extended workforce strategies.

The name Google came from googol, a mathematical term for the number 1 followed by 100 zeros. And nobody at Google loves big numbers like the Finance team when providing in depth analysis on all manner of strategic decisions across Google products. From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, launch, and optimize analytical/simulation frameworks, pipelines, dashboards, and business intelligence solutions spanning ETL, storage, and visualization layers, applying the latest industry best practices.
  • Devise and run financial models, scenario analyses, and driver-based simulations. Provide plan development support on Profit and Loss items, strategic projects, and ad hoc executive requests through advanced analytics, modeling, and probabilistic simulations.
  • Monitor performance indicators, highlight trends, and provide timely and accurate reporting and analysis to finance and business leadership.
  • Engage broadly with Go-to-Market, Product, and Strategic Finance to identify, prioritize, frame, and structure complex, ambiguous problems where advanced analytics projects or tools can have the biggest impact.
