Job Description

Minimum qualifications:

  • 6 years of experience in an analytics or data science role, and 1 year of experience with product-growth such as communication channels (e.g., email, push notifications, etc.).
  • Experience with Python and C++ or Java.
  • Experience in people management.
  • Experience in SQL, data-processing software, and statistical software.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Math, or a related discipline, or 6 years of experience with a quantitative focus.
  • Experience shaping product features, and user growth strategies across multiple media channels (e.g., web, mobile, email, etc.).
  • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts, including technical architectures, infrastructure components, ETL, and reporting/analytics tools and environments.
  • Ability to represent, and influence discussions involving quantitative concepts and data-based stories using excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to connect the dots between data to develop hypothesis for Product and Growth team to take action using excellent problem solving skills.

The Marketing Automation team is a multidisciplinary group of engineers, data scientists, designers, product and marketing leaders in Google Ads. With a global footprint of growth programs, we engage millions of advertisers and agencies of all sizes. We build the tools, infrastructure, and user experiences to drive new customer acquisition, product adoption, business growth, and brand affinity for Google’s advertising business.

As a Product Growth Analyst, you will conduct measurement infrastructure across multiple programs and marketing channels to acquire, retain, and grow advertisers. You will provide quantitative support, user understanding, and a strategic perspective to partner teams. You will serve as an analytics contact for cross-partner teams, using numbers to help them make better decisions. You will weave stories with compelling insight from data and make critical recommendations for product and campaign design.

By partnering with Growth, Engineering, Content, and Marketing teams, you will be responsible for defining data needs to measure and grow the success of our programs and properties, including ThinkWithGoogle.com, Ads.Google.Com, emails, paid media, and other global growth initiatives. You will be analyzing large data sets and shaping data pipelines that power our projects, working cross- functionally and directing the work of our extended analyst team globally. You will be accountable for the analysis, insights, and recommendations to improve our user experience and program performance across various channels.

Responsibilities

  • Drive data infrastructure needs across various ads marketing programs, and ensure privacy standards are met.
  • Apply your expertise in quantitative analysis, data mining, and the presentation of data to see beyond the numbers and understand how our users interact with our programs.
  • Bring a deep understanding of growth and optimization best practices to growth-focused Marketing and Engineering teams.
  • Partner with cross-functional leads to define, implement, and track key performance indicators for user acquisition, retention, and engagement for programs.
  • Develop insights for program changes that drive growth with Product, Marketing, Engineering, and Content teams.
