Job Description

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, a similar field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in semiconductors and/or consumer electronics.
  • Experience working cross-functionally.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD with emphasis in DSP systems/implementation or DSP/ML architectures.
  • 10 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Development experience (concept to product) as a key technical contributor.
  • System level experience analyzing use cases and creating performance budgets for key features.
  • Experience in implementing and optimizing DSP workloads.
  • Knowledge of ML tool-chains and system software.

The audio architecture team works to deliver the highest quality and lowest power audio solutions that power Google's mobile products. As a member of the Pixel Audio Architecture team, you will be defining the next generation of innovative audio use cases to create radically helpful experiences for our users.

As a DSP and Machine Learning Architect, you will be working with various cross-functional teams to define compute, memory, and power requirements for next generation Audio and Machine Learning (ML) use cases. You will work closely with product management and system architect leads to define and align on power and performance budgets for the innovative features in our roadmaps. Once defined, you will work cross-functionally to ensure proper implementation of these use cases.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to defining audio experience roadmaps and helping ensure technical feasibility for these features running on our hardware platforms.
  • Perform use case analysis for both audio and ML use cases on our roadmaps and provide proper budgeting (compute/memory) to help define future generation hardware needs.
  • Work with SoC, DSP and ML architects to convert features into implementation requirements including producing appropriate documentation.
  • Work with and guide software/DSP implementation teams to implement ML workloads, and own workload key performance indicators including MIPS/Memory/Latency/Power.
  • Develop software reference test-benches for SoC/hardware/software implementation teams.
