Job Description

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with building data infrastructure (e.g. designing architecture, building data pipelines, implementing scalable monitoring) and implementing reporting solutions.
  • Experience in programming and SQL.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree (or other advanced degree) in Statistics, Mathematics, or related quantitative discipline.
  • Experience working on teams that managed large scale data projects. Exposure to Agile methodologies.
  • Conceptual, logical and physical data modeling and data architecture knowledge.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to process large data sets and identify patterns of significance.
  • Demonstrated success on projects; ability to independently lead, communicate, and collaborate with multiple stakeholders. High degree of proactivity and ownership; ability to take initiative.

At Google, data drives all of our decision-making. As part of the Finance Business Intelligence team, you will use data to inform business and product decisions across the company. Using your technical skills, business acumen and creativity, you will build tools to automate reporting and generate insight that will allow clients to quickly and accurately see how our key business products and processes are performing. Previous experience managing finance systems projects, with emphasis on providing business intelligence and data driven insight through reporting, will have equipped you well for this role. You’ll be involved in projects from inception to delivery, ensuring that your reporting delivers high-quality and relevant data to intelligently grow our business. You will also have extensive knowledge of key financial systems, such as Oracle and Hyperion, and experience working with a range of other business intelligence tools and platforms.

In this role, you'll have opportunity to grow data solutions at scale by partnering with multiple verticals/organizations to drive process efficiency and performance management insights to key stakeholders.

Using your technical skills, business acumen, and creativity, you will build automated data solutions that provide strategic insights. As a Business Intelligence Analyst, you'll combine business acumen, technology, and innovation to organize data, enable insights and create an excellent data-driven and efficient Finance organization. You'll thrive in environments with multiple cross-functional stakeholders. You'll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects using your analytics, visualization, and data warehousing expertise, and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. Equally you'll explain your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you discuss the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with the Finance teams, understand their data needs, and build plans to address those with intelligent data solutions in a timely and sustainable fashion.
  • Deliver data solutions that tell a story and provide insights to the users, enabling them to make better decisions and more efficiently complete their responsibilities.
  • Incorporate best practices for reporting, dashboards, and scorecards, data visualization to ensure the data solutions are and remain relevant in filling the information gaps of the finance organization.
  • Take lead for release schedules and milestones along all stages of a project’s life cycle, coordinating across multiple teams across Google to ensure delivery of best data products/solutions.
  • Maintain highest levels of development practices including: technical design; solution development; systems configuration; test documentation/execution; issue identification and resolution; writing clean, modular, and self-sustaining code.
