JP Morgan Asset Management is a leading global investment manager for institutions, financial intermediaries and individual investors, worldwide. JP Morgan Asset Management Compliance is seeking to fill a leadership role to assist with the oversight and support of Asset and Wealth Management’s use of GAI and LLMs. The candidate will also be responsible for assisting in developing Compliance’s use of GAI and LLM in order to enhance its oversight of the businesses use of this technology.

AM Operations provides global operational support for all aspects of JP Morgan Asset Management’s businesses, which broadly includes regulatory reporting, guidelines management, performance reporting, fee billing, position, trade and cash management and reconciliations, asset servicing and collateral management.

As the Compliance Risk Management Lead, you will manage relationships with senior level executives, legal, risk, business, control and business management partners, capably managing multiple projects and tasks with the right urgency and agility to prioritize and re-prioritize as needed. As a successful candidate for this role, you will need to be curious, proactive, self-motivated, thoughtful, agile, open to professional growth and new responsibilities in the execution of the Compliance program for these areas and will be equally committed to delivering as an individual contributor and as a member of the team working across AM lines of business and CCOR.

Job Responsibilities

You will be responsible for the following:

  • Assisting in the creation and design of oversight, monitoring and testing and evaluating the potential use of GAI, LLMs etc.
  • Taking a leadership role in developing and maintaining a state of the art Compliance Oversight Program as it relates to GAI/LLMs and AM Operations.
  • Providing second line of defense oversight and challenge of the businesses processes and controls related to Compliance risks, currently known as Control and Operational Risk Evaluation (CORE) and engage in other risk assessments needed..
  • Conducting Compliance training and drafting Compliance Bulletins and Policies to educate stakeholders on key control issues and regulatory developments.
  • Conducting periodic reviews of applicable policies and advise the business on issue management and change management, including review of procedures.
  • Leading global Compliance counterparts to ensure consistency of practices and oversight.
  • Supporting Compliance engagement and/or act as a delegate in governance committees.
  • Supporting business and Compliance responses to regulatory engagements (exams/requests).
  • Reviewing and dispositioning cases for the Market Conduct Violation framework involving Operations personnel
  • Developing and executing a monitoring and testing program around the Operations team’s activities.
  • Providing day to day advice and guidance to AM Operations teams.
  • Supporting other areas of the team’s coverage including sales and distribution, liquidity, employee compliance, client service; fiduciary/advisor obligations and the AM Compliance Program more broadly.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • 7+ years asset management, broker-dealer or investment adviser or related Compliance, Legal, Audit, controls, and sales.
  • Strong desire to learn the uses and application of data analytics and generative AI and LLMs. Experience in these areas is a significant plus.
  • Operational experience in the financial industry is a plus, particularly as it relates to fee billing processes.
  • Experience with monitoring and testing, investment management risk oversight, and risk assessments is a plus.
