As a Principal Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Technology's Compliance Control & Regulatory Technology team, you provide expertise and engineering excellence as an integral part of an agile team to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. Leverage your advanced technical capabilities and collaborate with colleagues across the organization to drive best-in-class outcomes across various technologies to support one or more of the firm’s portfolios.

Job responsibilities

  • Develop and Implement Generative Models: Design and implement state-of-the-art generative models and explore novel techniques.
  • Apply Generative Models to NLP Tasks: Utilize generative models like ChatGPT APIs for natural language processing tasks, including prompt engineering for summarization and content generation. Use Deep Learning models like CNN, RNN and NLP (BERT) for solving various business use cases like name entity resolution, forecasting and anomaly detection.
  • Collaborate with Cross-functional Teams: Work closely with data scientists, machine learning engineers, and domain experts to integrate generative models into diverse applications, ensuring seamless integration with ChatGPT APIs.
  • Optimize and Fine-tune Generative Models: Implement optimization strategies to fine-tune generative models for specific NLP use cases, ensuring high-quality outputs in summarization and text generation.
  • Evaluate and Improve Model Performance: Conduct thorough evaluations of generative models, iterate on model architectures, and implement improvements to enhance overall performance in NLP applications.
  • Explore New Use Cases with ChatGPT APIs: Experiment with ChatGPT APIs to explore and develop new use cases, leveraging their capabilities for innovative applications.
  • Product Delivery: Leverage experience with AI frameworks, methodologies, and technical challenges faced by product teams to effectively communicate with engineers and drive product delivery
  • Data Processing : Use large scale data processing frameworks such as Spark, AWS EMR for feature engineering and be proficient across various data both structured and unstructured.
  • Creates durable, reusable software frameworks that are leveraged across teams and functions
  • Influences leaders and senior stakeholders across business, product, and technology teams
  • Champions the firm’s culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Curiosity, creativity, resourcefulness and a collaborative spirit. Demonstrated ability to work on multi-disciplinary teams with diverse backgrounds
  • Degree in field of Computer Science, Data Science or equivalent discipline. 5+ years of experience in Machine learning/Artificial intelligence technologies
  • Expertise in Generative Model Architectures: Strong understanding and hands-on experience with generative model architectures, particularly GANs, VAEs, and expertise in working with ChatGPT APIs.
  • Proficient in Deep Learning Frameworks: Experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch, and other relevant frameworks for building and training generative models, including integration with ChatGPT APIs.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams, communicate complex concepts, and contribute to interdisciplinary projects.
  • Problem-solving and Optimization: Ability to identify and address challenges related to generative models, implement optimizations, and fine-tune models for optimal performance in NLP applications.
  • Portfolio of NLP Projects with API Integration: A portfolio showcasing successful applications of generative models in NLP projects, including examples of utilizing ChatGPT APIs for prompt engineering.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Advanced Programming Skills: Proficiency in Python for model development, experimentation, and working with APIs like ChatGPT.
  • Experience with AI/ML products - Working product knowledge of core AI topics like machine learning algorithms, deep learning, knowledge graph, AI workflows and have experience working with massive amounts of data.
  • Research-oriented Mindset: Stay updated on the latest generative AI research, implement cutting-edge techniques, and leverage external APIs for enhanced functionality.
