Job Description

You will be responsible for partnering with Business Banking (BB)/Business Card (BC) Risk & Strategy, CCB and Wholesale IT, Risk Reporting, Finance and Data Management teams to provision, manage and control data used to provide internal and external reporting and analysis used to manage risk through changing market conditions, and fulfill regulatory requirements regarding data aggregation and risk reporting, and execute controls. The BB Risk Reporting, Analytics and Data team (RAD) is responsible for providing complete, timely, accurate, and useful data on the credit risk generated by Consumer & Community Banking's, sub-LOB, BB and BC. 

The BB RAD team is looking for a self-motivated individual to execute and enhance control processes and procedures, with the aim of reducing the frequency of instances and impact severity of inaccurate, untimely, or incomplete data in our risk reporting and strategy data environments. This position requires a high degree of coordination and the ability to communicate well across both the business and technology in order to ensure a rapid response and prioritization of issues when they occur. The person in this role will be tasked with improving existing and building out new data control processes by leveraging automation and business intelligence tools. A foundation and understanding of data structures, how to query data, and practical implementation of operational controls leveraging business intelligence tools is necessary to be successful.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Executing processes critical to our risk reporting function, which ensure Risk Reporting and Strategy teams are provided with accurate, timely, and complete data in support of BB/BC control objectives 
  • Performing ongoing data reconciliation between critical risk systems, ensuring our data remains accurate across applications within Chase’s risk infrastructure 
  • Translate business control requirements into meaningful reports and KRI/KPIs that monitor the quality and consistency of the data used in our risk strategies 
  • Engage with application owners, product owners, RAD team management, and technology to prioritize, escalate, and fix data issues in our risk reporting environment with a sense of urgency
  • Enhance existing data controls, develop and implement new controls ensuring the soundness and accuracy of our control environment

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills: 

  • Bachelor’s degree required; concentration in Data Science or Analytics, Computer Science, or Information Systems Management
  • 1-2 years of experience in risk and/or financial reporting/analytics or technology development, experience with data quality and/or control processes
  • Base level experience with Business Intelligence Tools such as; SQL, SAS, Python, Alteryx, Cognos or Tableau, and Visio
  • Understanding of the Agile development lifecycle, quality assurance concepts, data models, and documentation standards
  • Experience with creating data flows or lineage documents a plus
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, attention to detail, and time management skills
  • Strong analytical skills, the ability to turn data into meaningful business insights
