Job Description

As a Senior Content Editor for Zagat (CDJ), you will join the editorial team in the development of restaurant-related content initiatives with an initial focus on restaurant guides. This is an exciting opportunity for those with editing, proofing and project management skills to assist in launching the next iteration of Zagat. You will report to the VP, Dining Editorial.

Job Responsibilities

  • Partner with editorial leadership in the production, editing and publishing of Zagat restaurant reviews.
  • Copy edit all reviews to ensure they meet brand standards for grammar, clarity, style, voice, and tone.
  • Verify the validity of information and facts to maintain the highest level of accuracy.
  • Develop and maintain style guides and workflow processes to ensure cross-platform consistency and efficiency.
  • Work with Data and Research teams to identify data-driven editorial opportunities and enhancements.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • 5+ years in editorial and digital media ideally at a consumer-facing publication, digital platform or technology company.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated copyediting and fact-checking skills.
  • Well-versed in editorial best practices.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver impactful results under tight deadlines.
  • Experience creating, maintaining and implementing style guides.
  • Familiarity with the New York City dining scene.
  • Bachelor’s degree.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Experience with emerging technologies, including Artificial Intelligence (AI).
  • Knowledge of UX writing best practices.
