Job Description

JPMC’s GFIU is responsible for the execution and delivery of proactive project-oriented investigations which identify financial crime risk inherent in customer profiles, products, and services; and undertakes reviews of high-profile investigations referred from JPMC’s LOB, Regional AML Investigations, GFC Legal Counsel, and Senior Management. The role of the VP / Data Analytics Manager involves working internally with the GFIU investigative team managers to drive the detection and mitigation of money laundering / terrorist financing (ML/TF) risks by leveraging existing and new data analytic solutions. In this role, you will oversee the activities of the GFIU’s team of Data Analysts who work in close partnership with the AML investigators assigned to the GFIU’s investigative teams.

As a GFIU VP / Data Analytics Manager, you will drive the development of new data analytic tools and techniques to identify and prevent emerging risks and effectively communicate findings to a wide variety of stakeholders and cross-functional partners across the firm. You will demonstrate statistical, analytical, and technical skills as well as the ability to exercise sound judgment while observing the highest degree of confidentiality in handling the information used.

Job responsibilities

  • Lead a team of Data Analysts who are an integral component in support of the development and investigation of multiple complex financial crime investigations.
  • Drive the team’s illumination of data which the GFIU leverages to develop actionable Financial Crimes intelligence to identify existing and emerging risk trends and in-turn used to inform senior management
  • Responsible for the support and development of various Financial Crimes intelligence dashboards
  • Support requests for specialized analytics by researching data sources and developing custom logic
  • Support projects involving various Corporate, Technology, and Line of Business groups to identify and implement new intelligence opportunities
  • Effectively communicates observations to various level of management
  • Self-starter who cultivates relationships across various Corporate, Legal, Technology and Line of Business groups to drive program objectives to successful completion
  • Develop and implement data analytic training and best practices to grow AML investigator self sufficiency

Required qualifications, capabilities, skills

  • Experience leading, developing and navigating a team of experts through a matrixed organization
  • Experience building complex SQL statements and working knowledge of database platforms such as Oracle and Teradata [4+ years experience]
  • Experience with applying data science techniques using statistical analysis to analyze large data sets leveraging SAS or similar [2+ years experience]
  • Proficiency with application of Link Analysis software, in support of complex investigations (i.e. IBM i2 Analyst’s Notebook)
  • Advanced dashboard development experience with QlikView, Tableau or similar [3+ years of experience]
  • Experience building complex workflows leveraging Alteryx Designer [3+ years of experience]
  • Strong analytical skills to enable efficient, accurate and objective decision making

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, skills

  • Knowledge of Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and/or Complex Investigations
  • Programming experience with Python or SAS [3+ years’ experience]
  • Experience with Quantexa [2+ years experience]
