Job Description

Working in Application Support means you'll use both creative and critical thinking skills to maintain application systems that are crucial to the daily operations of the firm. You'll work collaboratively in teams on a wide range of projects based on your primary area of focus: design or programming. While learning to fix application and data issues as they arise, you'll also gain exposure to software development, testing, deployment, maintenance, and improvement, in addition to production lifecycle methodologies and risk guidelines. Finally, you'll have the opportunity to develop professionally —and to grow your career in any direction you choose.

Roles and Responsibilities

We are looking for a technical specialist who is a quick learner, critical thinker, enjoys problem solving, has good communication skills, is hungry for learning both the business knowledge & tech skills and is an enthusiastic team player.

• Provide production support for applications developed by the global data science team. The role includes troubleshooting issues, running CI/CD pipelines, application performance monitoring
• Collaborates with the developers, business users and global production management teams. It requires you to be an effective communicator and a team player.
• Innovate, design, implement and maintain basic automation strategies for a very reliable production system/flow.
• Manage Production incident management, root cause analysis (RCA) and related follow ups to ensure closure of the issue.
• Plan, manage, monitor and optimize the production related infrastructure (Linux hosts, Private/Public cloud, Kubernetes, Kafka, Database systems, Network etc.) related capacity and resiliency management

Required skills

• Hands-on experience in Application Production Support in Cloud, UNIX/Linux/Windows environment
• Experience with scripting & programming languages like Python/Shell scripting.
• Experience in utilizing scheduler software such Control-M or Autosys
• Experience in handling critical application outages in an large scale operations & driving root cause analysis and remediation
• Experience with instrumentation, monitoring, alerting and responding - relative to performance and availability of application, using tools such as AppDynamics, Splunk, Geneos etc.

 Preferred skills

• Incident management experience or the willingness to learn.
• Follow-the-sun support model, experience working across multiple time zones.
• Advanced English level
