As an Architect III at JPMorgan Chase within the Global Liquidity and Account Services Architecture and Solutions group within the Corporate Investment Bank, you serve as a seasoned member of a team by incorporating leading best practices and collaborating with other architects to develop high-quality architecture solutions for various software applications and platforms. You are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

Job responsibilities

  • Executes architecture solutions and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down problems
  • Analyzing and designing the “to-be” functional business components, capabilities and flows
  • Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
  • Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring that design constraints are met by software code development
  • Evaluates and provides feedback on technical architecture design recommendations
  • Represents a product in architectural governance bodies
  • Leads the product team in evaluating new technologies using existing standards and frameworks, and develops recommendations to influence progress to modern architecture
  • Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems
  • Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture and recommends innovations which enhance the operation and functionality of Client systems
  • Contributes to architecture communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies and adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
  • Drive compliance to the firms Security, Data Privacy & IT&S Standards within solutions and see through any exceptions.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on design authority concepts and proficient applied experience
  • Experience of operating across infrastructure, business, technology , operations and functional architecture domains
  • Strong knowledge of one or more software applications and architecture development including detailed knowledge of cloud architectures
  • Ability to evaluate current technologies to recommend ways to optimize architecture
  • Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
  • Strong communication skills and experience of working with architecture colleagues to ensure that requirements are understood and that individual system changes support the overall groups strategic direction
  • Proficient in coding in one or more languages and overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
  • Experience of working with vendors as well as internal IT teams in order to provide architecture coverage at all stages of a project and across all technical components
  • Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Applicant Resiliency, and Security whilst being comfortable working with ambiguity and frequent changes in scope
  • Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)

  • Familiarity with modern front-end technologies
  • Exposure to cloud technologies
