Our Consumer & Community Banking division serves our Chase customers through a range of financial services, including personal banking, credit cards, mortgages, auto financing, investment advice, small business loans and payment processing. We help business owners with deposit accounts, payment acceptance, access to credit, and cash management services.

The candidate would be an integral member of the Consumer Bank’s Debit product organization, which generates ~$2B+ in revenue and ~$150MM expense annually. The candidate is responsible for supporting the product across their expense base, including partnering with the business to identify and size cost optimization opportunities, and developing debit analytics to support profitability analysis.

Job Responsibilities :

  • The CB Deposits Finance team supports all areas of the Consumer Bank Product organization related to the Firmwide Core Deposit Platform, Chase Debit Product, Core Financial Products, and Deposit Services.
  • The Chase Debit Product is the organization that delivers all aspects of debit products for Chase, which includes developing the underlying technology to process debit transactions for our customers, interfacing with Visa/MasterCard debit networks, and fulfilling all physical card production and distribution.
  • As an integral member of the Chase Debit Product team, the candidate would be responsible for the organization’s Expense, with broad responsibility across multiple aspects of the business, including:
  • Develop strong partnerships with the Debit leadership team
  • Develop annual expense budget for the organization, which comprises of network, production, and contractual expenses. Partner with the business to identify and quantify expense optimization strategies.
  • Partner with debit strategy teams to develop business cases on initiatives that could reduce expense.
  • Partner with colleagues in the finance organization (for example, revenue forecasting team and controllers), to provide insight into debit strategy, upcoming changes, and budget/forecast guidance.
  • Develop monthly insights into debit P&L performance, including supporting deep dive analysis. Lead quarterly Debit P&L review with the Consumer Bank’s CFO and Head of Product.
  • This position is ideal for a candidate who brings a balance of:
  • Core financial and analytics acumen. Desire and discipline to develop a deep understanding of the Debit space, and
  • The ability to interface and influence senior product owners.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills :

  • Proven ability to take initiative, influence others, and achieve results
  • Ability to manage multiple (and changing) project deliverables at same time; can independently prioritize deliverables, execute toward milestones, and identify roadblocks.
  • Strong communication, presentation, planning, and inter-personal skills. Confidence to work directly with senior managers to influence direction and provide a counter point.
  • Ability to think analytically; demonstrated business savvy and commercial judgment. Strong Excel and PowerPoint proficiency is critical
  • Skilled and comfortable at working in a highly matrixed organization
  • 2 to 5 years of direct finance experience (e.g., P&A, financial analysis and modeling, etc.)
  • MBA or Bachelor’s in Finance/Accounting

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Knowledge and experience of Python, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning would be a plus
