Job Description

As a Senior Lead Security Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Cybersecurity & Technology Controls organization, you will be a vital part of an agile team, delivering software solutions that meet pre-defined functional and user requirements while preventing misuse and malicious behavior. Your role will involve promoting significant business impact through your technical expertise and problem-solving skills to address a wide range of cybersecurity challenges across multiple technology domains. The Integration Security team, which you will be a part of, leads and coordinates all security engineering efforts related to critical integrations across JPMorgan. Our goal is to design, engineer, and integrate security controls, ensuring seamless embedded security from the start for frictionless value delivery to our business and customers.

Job responsibilities

  • Play key roles in software development – Mentor, hands on lead developer and SME in cloud technologies.
  • Facilitate security requirements clarification for multiple networks to enable multi-level security to satisfy organizational needs
  • Work with stakeholders and senior business leaders to recommend business modifications during periods of vulnerability
  • Triage based on risk assessments of various threats and managing resources to cover impact of disruptive events
  • Add to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
  • Hands on skilled engineering leader with the ability to work within a diverse collaborative team across different time zones.
  • Excellent knowledge and experience in system design, domain driven design and microservices.
  • Experience in leading planning, designing, and implementing enterprise-level security solutions in a public cloud environment (i.e. AWS, CGCP, Azure)
  • Advanced in one or more programming languages (e.g. Java, Python, C++)
  • Advanced knowledge of secure software application development and technical processes with considerable in-depth knowledge in one or more technical disciplines (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
  • Hands on expertise in Kubernetes and AWS cloud services with an emphasis on Infrastructure as Code (IaC) utilizing tools such as Terraform.
  • Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) tools (Jenkins), version control tools (BitBucket, Git), managing and tracking work using management tools like Jira
  • Experience following and promoting Agile practices like Test Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior Driven Development(BDD)
  • Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight
  • Strong communication skills demonstrating the ability to present and explain ideas and concepts.

  • CISSP Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
  • Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) and/or Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP)
  • AWS Certified Security Specialty
  • Google Certified Professional Cloud Security Engineer and/or Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate
  • Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist (CKS)
  • GIAC Public Cloud Security (GPCS)
