Job Description

Duties: Develop data sets to understand data quality, data predictive power, and likely data usefulness to the broader client base. Perform end-to-end curation, coordination and go-to-market strategy of data products to best serve client needs. Work with teammates in data product management to conceptualize, specify and develop proprietary data products, taking into account technical debt and automation needs. Be part of a business initiative to create significant revenue streams for the firm, and influence the commercialization and go-to-market strategy of the service. Create and maintain a cloud-based data 'factory' to productionize creative and meaningful datasets. Work closely with internal technology teams, line-of-business data owners, and third-party vendors to build and automate future-proof data product processes. Responsible for various APIs, batch processes, and other data retrieval/dissemination methods to ensure process consistency. Work closely with various stakeholders and clients to understand their workflows and data needs and action those into real datasets. Develop new ideas and productionize existing datasets using models and scripting.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Economics, Data Science, Analytics, Computer Science or related field of study plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or as Data Management, Product Manager, Client Services Analyst, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Master’s degree in Mathematics, Economics, Data Science, Analytics, Computer Science or related field of study plus 1 year of experience in the job offered or as Data Management, Product Manager, Client Services Analyst, or related occupation.

Skills Required: Requires experience in the following: Python and Microsoft Excel for analyzing data and creating data product prototypes; Microsoft PowerPoint for assembling findings and presenting analysis; Data APIs and batch processes for data programmatically; Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud resources; Writing product technical specifications for product development; Databases and big data systems, including MySQL and Spark; Analyzing reference and time series data for financial instruments across different asset classes, including Equity, Fixed Income, and FX.

Job Location: 383 Madison Ave., New York, NY 10179. Telecommuting permitted up to 40% of the week.

Full-Time. Salary: $135,000 - $155,000 per year.
