As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Equities Technology Team, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for implementing critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives. The Equities technology Team has 1000's of engineers working across a number of challenging business problems. These range from building low latency execution, algorithmic trading, solving complex functions, using Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning/Natural Language Processing to gain insight and execute trades.

Job responsibilities

  • Establish partnership with global Middle Office teams while supporting and developing applications/tools for them.
  • Delivery-focused team working with global and local counterparts leveraging best in class technologies to solve business problems.
  • Design and develop complex, high quality, enterprise-transforming business applications.
  • Prepare software for deployment to production environments and assist in releases.
  • Respond to and resolve queries and issues reported in production.
  • Manage small projects independently and work as a team member on larger projects.
  • Be part of diverse, high-energy teams focused on full life-cycle development.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and proficient applied experience
  • Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
  • Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
  • Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Applicant Resiliency, and Security
  • Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
  • Experience in design, analysis, architecture and development of applications using Microsoft .Net/.Net core C# development (Visual Studio, ASP.NET, MVC, Web API, EF)
  • Experience in TDD and Unit test frameworks like XUnit/Nunit.
  • Experience in developing RESTful services using WebAPI. Solid understanding of REST concepts and micro services architecture.
  • Strong working knowledge of Threading and parallel programming.
  • Strong technical expertise in the Relational Databases - MSSQL.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Familiarity with modern front-end technologies
  • Exposure to cloud technologies
  • Experience with at least one modern programming language such as Python, React, etc.
  • Good communication skills especially when describing problems and explaining solutions
  • Experience of full project lifecycle, breaking requirements down into technical deliverables and effort estimation
  • Ability to work effectively within a global team (spread across NA, EMEA, APAC) while influencing and contributing towards the development of the global platform

We recently announced plans for a new office in Athens, Greece, to support our organic growth in the country and to bolster the innovation efforts of our Payments and Markets business globally.

J.P. Morgan first opened its doors in Greece more than five decades ago, and today we provide products and services from across our Investment Banking, Payments and Asset & Wealth Management businesses to a number of local and multinational Greek clients.

The new office will house a new Innovation Lab, which will provide research and development to the J.P. Morgan Payments and Markets business.
