Job Description

The successful candidate will apply machine learning techniques ranging from regression to LLM to solve business problems. You will be a key member of a dedicated team of data scientists and will help design, develop and deploy scalable machine learning products. The role will be in the firm’s Applied AI and Machine Learning organization.

Job responsibilities:

  • Identify and apply machine learning and data science methodologies to different problem statements in Payments
  • Collaborate with users and developers to identify areas where Machine Learning could help provide benefits.
  • Develop models through rigorous testing, analysis and research
  • Produce production ready code and work closely with date engineering teams to deploy models
  • Strong theoretical underpinning to ensure robust model testing at each stage of model development lifecycle
  • Tailor communication style to suit different audiences, both written and oral
  • Evaluate new developments and tools for usefulness, effectiveness and ease of deployment

Required qualification, capabilities, and skills

  • Master’s, PhD, or equivalent degree program in mathematics, sciences, statistics, econometrics, engineering, financial engineering, computer science, or other quantitative fields
  • Experience with opensource models, machine learning APIs and computational packages (LLM e.g. llama, TensorFlow, , Scikit-Learn, NumPy, SciPy, Pandas, statsmodels).
  • Strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
  • Programming experience with Python. Proficient in git version control
  • Familiarity with basic data table operations (SQL, Hive, etc.)
  • Strong Stakeholder & Project Management skills
  • Ability to ask incisive questions, converge on critical matters, assess materiality and escalate issues

Preferred qualification, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience with big-data technologies
  • Ability to work in agile cross-functional teams
  • Experience in handling multiple stakeholders
  • Basic understanding of the company's business practices and familiarity with the company's products and services will be helpful
