Job Description

As a Data Scientist Director on the Marketing Analytics Team, you’ll combine a heavy dose of consultation with leading the development and implementation of analytical and data strategies throughout our Private Client business. To achieve success, you’ll need to be analytically/technically strong, and will have deep marketing and sales analytics expertise that will effectively deliver acquisition, deepening, and retention programs across sales and marketing channels. As someone with a passion for data and analytics, you’ll be presented with problems that don’t have a defined solution. Your team will be expected to assess and comprehend the situation, then develop analytical and data solutions to proactively address it. The type of analytical projects/questions posed to you and team can be of the highest level of difficulty, each with the chance of having significant impact to the business.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage and support the marketing campaign data and analytics needs, including test design development, sizing, targeting, business case support, modeling support, list execution support, reporting, financial assessments, forecasting and overall campaign analysis, etc.
  • Support sales data & analytics needs, including lead management & optimization, Salesforce CRM, sales insights & dashboards, sales funnel reporting, and sales control reporting
  • Mentor, develop, and lead a team of talented advanced analytics professionals
  • Interface directly with senior executives as clients and collaborators in Marketing, Sales, Strategy, Finance, and Data & Analytics teams across the organization
  • Understand client’s business challenges to efficiently structure practical solutions that create favorable business impact
  • Solve key business problems by leading the practical application of data sciences/analytics, analytic data design, modeling/machine learning, and data visualization efforts
  • Innovate with the customer and business impact in mind
  • Skillfully work with multiple business partners, clients, and senior executives and communicate with them at their level of analytical/technical understanding

 Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • BS Degree in a quantitative field and 10+ years of producing and overseeing advanced analytics work to include people management and development
  • Experienced in supporting a marketing campaign lifecycle, including test design development, sizing, targeting, business case support, modeling support, list execution support, reporting, financial assessments, forecasting and overall campaign analysis, etc.
  • Expertise supporting the data and analytics needs of sales organizations with deep knowledge of Salesforce/CRM implementations, Lead Creation and Prospecting, Site/Location Optimization, Channel Adoption, Client & Banker Segmentation, and Sales Management support to drive market share growth and profitability improvements
  • Seasoned Analytics professional with broad knowledge of quantitative and analytical concepts, methods, tools, and technologies
  • Proficiency in data analysis languages such as Python, SAS, Java, R, JavaScript, C++, Scala and relational databases/tools like SQL, Teradata, Snowflake, Alteryx, etc.
  • Proficient in identifying, buying, testing and deploying new data types that can drive insights from other LOBs, as well as small business data vendors (i.e. D&B, credit bureaus, etc.)
  • Proven background in customer-centric design, marketing processes, or consumer behavior modeling and of partnering with digital marketing firms to identify leading edge data and analytic opportunities to enhance our digital marketing effectiveness.
  • Demonstrates well-rounded skills in a variety of areas including: time series analysis, learning algorithms, dimensionality reduction, experimental design, A/B and multivariate testing, matched pairs analytics, and ETL processing
  • Experience with Public and Private Cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, etc.
  • Hands-on experience in delivering analytics and insights to multiple levels of management (Including Test Design, Financials, Conversion/Response Reporting, Response Analysis, Incremental Analysis, Response Profiling and Target/Segmentation Analysis)
  • Skilled at creating impactful presentations using Tableau and presenting recommendations in a consultative and influential manner at the executive level

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • MBA, Master's, or PhD in a quantitative field preferred: Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Computing and Information Theory, Econometrics, Biostatistics, Operations Research, or Industrial / Electrical Engineering
  • Financial Service industry experience desired, but we are open to evaluating candidates with strong analytics backgrounds from other industries
  • Strong knowledge of Consumer/Wealth/Investment/Small Business products and services, including deposits, lending, cash management, investments, credit cards and merchant services
  • Management of teams that are located offshore
