Job Description

An ideal candidate for this position will have a strong understanding of applied machine learning with advanced understanding of statistics, algorithms, and modeling. Proven experience communicating with stakeholders to solve business problems, working within the software development lifecycle, and deploying AI / ML models into production from end-to-end is required. Experience with digital private markets, the venture capital ecosystem, and / or financial services is preferred.

Job responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and business stakeholders to build requirements for RAG + LLM patterns / solutions
  • Evaluate the pros and cons of traditional / vector / graph databases to support current and future product functionality
  • Design, implement, and monitor robust search solutions supporting NLP inference
  • Write and deploy well-crafted and well-tested code in support of AI / ML products and tools across the company

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • 5+ years practical experience or 3+ years with Advanced Degree (STEM field) experience working on data science applications in production environments
  • Required: Advanced knowledge of scientific Python ecosystem and frameworks (scipy, numpy, pandas, scikit-learn, transformers); SQL, NoSQL (OpenSearch, Elasticsearch, -Apache Lucene), and vector databases; and VCS (Git), containerization, and CI / CD
  • Required: Advanced knowledge of time-series data engineering, data quality, and monitoring; dimensionality reduction techniques (feature selection, PCA, factor analysis, embeddings, etc.); and DS modeling techniques (classification, regression, NLP)
  • Required: Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with the ability to work well in cross functional teams, passion for continuing education, and ability to consider new technologies without bias
  • Preferred: Intermediate knowledge of graph databases (ontologies, SPARQL, Neo4J, TigerGraph)
  • Preferred: Domain knowledge in digital private markets, venture capital, or financial services
