Job Description:

The engineering team is looking for a phenomenal machine learning software engineer with experience in machine learning, backend engineering, and data engineering. You will work in a close knit team and be involved in contributing to a variety of machine learning and optimization projects that drive Heal’s core autonomous routing/dispatch and predictive health systems. You will have the opportunity to take ownership of projects, deliver production level optimization and machine learning systems, and contribute to the development of Heal’s IP portfolio. 

The ideal candidate will have experience in machine learning frameworks (Tensorflow, Pytorch, Sklearn), building and deploying predictive models end to end, building backend systems (APIs, microservices) and building ETL pipelines.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Accurately synthesize mathematical, statistical, analytical expertise, implement modern ML techniques and tools to gather, process, and analyze massive datasets efficiently.
• Establish clear understanding of business objectives and build data-oriented decision making solutions that generate valuable insights for driving business growth. 
• Operationalize and deploy machine learning systems and build infrastructure to automate monitoring and retraining of machine learning models.
• Design, develop, and implement programmatic processes to extract clean and meaningful datasets from large amounts of data.
• Correctly prescribe ML algorithms and patterns based on matching capabilities and use cases with specific business problems.
• Develop and implement metrics to track success and progress resulting from ML initiatives.
• Develop prototypes, evaluate and propose new data-related algorithms and technologies.
• Lead efforts to convert successful prototypes into production.
• Research opportunities to extend and enrich existing ML frameworks and libraries.
• Contribute to autonomous routing and dispatch, doctor and medical assistant pairing, and remote patient monitoring using Python backend micro-services.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• BS degree in Computer Science / Mathematics / Statistics or related field
• 3+ years of related work experience OR Advanced degree in Computer Science / Mathematics / Statistics or related field
• 1+ year of related work experience

Preferred Skills/Abilities:

• Advanced Math and Statistics skills (e.g. linear algebra, calculus, Bayesian statistics, descriptive statistics, etc.)
• Solid theoretical foundation in machine learning / deep learning
• Present creativity, multiple solutions and approaches to problem solving
• Fluent articulating advanced technical concepts in writing and verbally
• Create and Operate data models and data architectures
• Utilize and implement appropriate software design patterns, OOP, and computer science fundamentals
• Programming experience in Python, R, Java or other scripting, statistical and native languages
• Experience working with relational databases (e.g. MS SQL Server, Postgres, etc.)
