Job Description

The Logistics Systems and Administration team emphasizes a partnership with internal and external customers to enable operations processes within Cardinal Health Logistics Systems. This position provides support to our medical and pharmaceutical manufacturing, replenishment, and distribution centers by aligning data and technology solutions to optimize the value of the warehouse and transportation for the supply chain. The team drives business innovation by leveraging emerging technologies and turning them into differentiating business capabilities.

Logistics Summary

We enable growth through effective and efficient movement of over 40MM shipments for our customers. This includes the flow of materials and products between suppliers, manufacturers, and customers.

What the Analytics Team Contributes to Cardinal Health Logistics

The team is responsible for applying business process knowledge and data analytics to develop, recommend and communicate timely, accurate, relevant, and actionable insights to support business decisions and objectives. The position will work across multi-functional teams, such as IT, Finance, Operations, Logistics team members, and Cardinal Health management.

Responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for building and delivering reporting capabilities leveraging data across the enterprise and within the logistics ecosystem. 
  • Use knowledge of business and data to discover and/or anticipate problems or opportunities where data can be leveraged to address the need.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders across multiple teams, gathering requirements, and delivering solutions.
  • Make recommendations for new metrics, techniques, and strategies to improve the operational and quality metrics.
  • Ask probing questions to translate business needs to build and design reporting solutions (metric management, dashboards, enterprise performance management).
  • Apply data visualization, descriptive and summary statistical techniques for discovery, and timely insights (data exploration, ad-hoc queries, and analysis).
  • Interpret results of analyses, identify trends and issues (forecasting), and develops alternatives to support business objectives.
  • Apply data aggregation, descriptive analysis, and data presentation techniques and tools to communicate complex findings and recommendations to influence others to take action.
  • Analyze and visualize logistics and transaction data to determine user behavior or delivery process problems and output analysis with recommendations.
  • Demonstrates ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely to a variety of audiences and mediums.

Accountabilities

  • Understands how to prepare, process, and analyze data to make the data valuable and useful for operational and/or decision-making purposes.
  • Understands current data context, processes, and availability, and how current data processes and existing data can be leveraged to achieve the desired benefits.
  • Prepares and analyzes data. This can include locating, profiling, cleansing, extracting, mapping, importing, transforming, validating, or modeling.
  • Interprets results of analyses, identifies trends and issues and develops recommendations to support business objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field preferred, with a concentration in Transportation, Logistics and Supply Chain Management or Management Information Systems preferred
  • 4+ years of experience in related field preferred
  • Advanced Degree in related field preferred
  • Experience working in Big Data systems, Data Lakes, and Analytics related fields managing Build and Run teams
  • Experience working with supply chain operations, transportation management systems, or associated technologies preferred
  • A Covid-19 vaccination or a legitimate accommodation is required in order to be employed in this position. Covid-19 vaccination includes:

Preferred Knowledge/Skills

  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Excel, Access, SQL and R or Python, At Scale and data mining tools
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in using data visualization tools like Tableau, PowerBI, Looker, Quicksight, or similar BI tools
  • Experience with AWS and/or GCP services
  • Experience using SSRS report builder preferred
  • Experience collecting requirements, writing detailed functional and test specifications, coordinating efforts to scope, schedule, and deploy new features
  • Experience building measures and metrics
  • Ability to work effectively in a business environment characterized by complexity, ambiguity, and rapid change
  • Ability to establish clear priorities quickly and work effectively under pressure, handle multiple projects, and meet deadlines
  • Experience working in an Agile environment
