Tech Lead, Commercial Technology Platform

  • Fuse @ Cardinal Health is looking for a highly driven Tech Lead to collaborate with a smart, friendly cross-functional team to help tackle these fascinating and challenging problems using new analytical and machine learning tools. We’re seeking people who are adept at building data pipelines that can source, clean, and normalize data at scale and who’ve got the enthusiasm and initiative necessary to deliver solutions at a fast pace.

The Role

  • Our data science team consists of data engineers as well as specialists in statistical modeling and machine learning. Because our challenges are so new, data engineers at Fuse need strong creative problem-solving skills and the technical background to implement solutions. We acquire data from multiple sources, and this requires a strong understanding of data architecture principles and engineering experience to prepare this data for our models. The ideal candidate will be intricately involved in automating experimental data pipelines and developing controls to monitor the quality of data.

Responsibilities

  • Stitch and normalize sparse and noisy data across various data sources.
  • Undertake preprocessing of structured and unstructured data
  • Design, develop, test implement, and support technical solutions in full-stack development tools and technologies.
  • Work with a team of developers with deep experience in machine learning, distributed microservices, and full stack systems
  • Utilize programming languages like Python, Java and Open Source RDBMS and Cloud based data warehousing services such as Aurora.
  • Share your passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies, participating in internal & external technology communities, and mentoring other members of the engineering community
  • Collaborate with engineering and product development teams
  • Deliver on timeline commitments where necessary
  • Build trust and strong relationships at all levels

Required Qualifications:

  • Must have designed, developed, and supported a complex software solution.
  • Proficient in SQL.
  • Familiarity with all stages of the product development cycle. Experience maintaining engineering best practices, including defect tracking, design reviews, and appropriate testing.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Pragmatic, product-oriented approach.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or similar quantitative fields.
  • 3+ years in the healthcare industry and knowledge of their business practices.
  • Experience with cloud environments
  • 5+ years of experience in application development
  • 5+ years of experience in at least one scripting language (Python, Perl, JavaScript, Shell)
  • 3+ year experience working on streaming data applications
  • 3+ years of experience with Agile engineering practices
  • 3+ years of experience developing Java based software solutions
  • 3+ years of experience with UNIX/Linux including basic commands and shell scripting
  • 2+ years of experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • 2+ years of experience with Ansible / Terraform
  • 2+ years of experience with Tableau administration
