Job Description

CVS Clinical Trial Recruitment partners with leading global biopharma clients to deliver qualified patients into ongoing pharmaceutical clinical trials in order to improve and accelerate clinical research for drug and vaccine development. The Lead Data Scientist is responsible for solving analytical problems, driving the delivery of patient Recruitment and Conduct site selection and prioritization to Pharma sponsors.

He/She/They works with leaders in Clinical Trial Services (CTS) to deliver an industry-leading patient recruitment, conduct, and engagement product with patient-centric experience. The key focus is to leverage CVS data assets and advanced analytics to support the growth and business development, provides advanced analytical and data science solutions to Pharma sponsors.

Primary job responsibilities:

  • Translate business problem into modeling approach taking into account business requirements, data availability, development time / complexity and ability to scale business problems to applicable data science problems
  • Prepare data for the analysis, in particular work with data engineering team to create modeling dataset, assess completeness and quality of data and perform feature engineerg
  • Develop machine learning, statistical or optimization models considering the latest development in research and tech community
  • Create end-to-end pipeline and solutions, work with data engineering team to scale and productionalize machine learning models and advanced analytics in Clinical Recruitment Platform (CRP) and Conduct platform
  • Work with business partners to design patient recruitment and measurement approach

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of healthcare space and clinical trial space
  • Experience in working with geospatial data

Required Qualifications

5+ years of data science experience in business setting including collaborating with business partners to understand problems, gather business requirements, design data science models and communicate results and insights back to business partners.

Knowledge of:

  • Data management and model productionalization best practices
  • Applying machine learning libraries to address real world data science problems
  • Machine learning, statistical analyses, and predictive modeling and in-depth specialization in some areas.

Skilled in:

  • Common modeling tools and frameworks, e.g., Python, R, Scala, TensorFlow, etc.

COVID Requirements

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrates proficiency in all areas of mathematical analysis methods, machine learning, statistical analyses, and predictive modeling and advanced in-depth specialization in some areas
  • Strong skills to effectively communicate and negotiate across business and in the external health care environment
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational, management and leadership skills
  • Deep knowledge of advanced analytics tools and languages to analyze large data sets from multiple data sources
  • Solid understanding of health care industry, products, and systems
  • Demonstrates a strong ability to communicate technical concepts and implications to business partners

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in quantitative field, or an equivalent combination of formal education and experience. Master’s degree in quantitative field or data science preferred.
