Job Description

We are on a mission to improve healthcare using Artificial Intelligence (AI). Currently, Healthcare AI is created and tested on a small subset of the population. This prevents AI models from generalizing to the broad population, and fulfilling the promise of increasing health equity.

Rhino Health is developing a federated platform that lets hospitals and developers collaborate seamlessly without moving data around. This way, we can democratize AI to the broader landscape of healthcare providers, and make AI truly inclusive.

The Principal Data Scientist is responsible for leading research collaborations with other AI researchers and developing proprietary models to enhance our platform. As part of this, you will:

• Ensure the success of our mission by translating insights from these collaborations into product improvements that solve real problems for our users.
• Develop Federated Learning techniques and proprietary AI models to enhance the Rhino Health platform.
• Collaborate on AI research projects and papers with leading scientists around the world.
• Work with product managers, fellow Rhino Health engineers, and users (e.g. doctors, scientists, AI engineers at other companies) to build the right solutions.
• Juggle demands and requirements in a fast-pace and high-throughput environment.
• Keep up to date on new advancements in Federated Learning, Healthcare AI, and other domains.
• As the company grows, scale a team of Data Scientists.

You are:

• An experienced AI researcher and practitioner, with a proven track record of developing AI models for healthcare.

Your qualifications are:

• PhD or more in a quantitative / scientific discipline with proven academic achievements (e.g. publications in high-impact journals).
• 5+ years experience in Healthcare AI.
• Prior experience working at an early stage startup.
• Understanding of diagnostic devices and healthcare data is a must.
• Experience working with Radiology Imaging data is preferred.
• Experience managing a team of researchers/data scientists is preferred.
