The Institute for Health Equity Research is hiring a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to
support
innovative research focused on advancing health equity science. The Fellow will contribute to
several
ongoing
projects
that
are
shared
across Institute
cores
and
research
groups
and
will
largely utilize longitudinal medical claims data and electronic medical records to examine and expose disparities in
health outcomes.
This opportunity will
also
support
a scholar to
engage in
independent research to advance scholarship in alignment with IHER’s mission. The candidate is
expected to work collaboratively on developing research designs and methods, data collection and
analysis, writing manuscripts and
grant proposals, research
presentations, and
mentoring
and supervising students and research assistants. The postdoctoral fellowship appointment will
be
in
the
Department
of
Population
Health
Science
and
Policy.
Responsibilities
Applicants should have substantial experience in analyzing health care or
epidemiological
research data and ability to manage complex datasets using advanced statistical techniques. Thesuccessful applicant should also be proficient in SAS or R, have a demonstrated interest in a
career in health equity research, and strong interpersonal and communications skills.
Experience with GIS is desirable but not
required.
