Data Science & Advanced Analytics group – with offices in the Americas, EU5, Poland and China as well as a network of more than 350 experts worldwide - is the global competence center for statistics and data science at IQVIA. Data Science & Advanced Analytics is responsible for developments of statistical procedures and methods used for quality assurance processes, data imputations, data projections, forecasting and many other. Main data sources are panel data including pharmacy sales, ecommerce data, hospital consumption, physician level prescriptions and longitudinal anonymized patient level data.

The team oversees the maintenance and improvements mainly in the field of survey methodology and data quality assurance. Moreover, the team executes statistical analyses of highest level to support international customers. Position Purpose:

Member of the Data Science & Advanced Analytics EMEA team. Under broad guidance, the incumbent will execute and provide expertise in developing and applying statistical methodologies to support set-up, implementation, and maintenance of solutions for EMEA countries with focus on DACH region (Germany, Austria, and Switzerland).

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Use scientific methods, algorithms, processes and systems to extract knowledge and insights from structured and unstructured data.
  • Develop and implement statistical and machine learning algorithms in the field of quality control (e.g., isolation trees), data imputation (e.g., mice forest), projection (cloning, geo-spatial, AI/ML powered potential), and analytics to support new innovations and development of information offerings.
  • Apply statistical design and appropriate methodology to meet insight needs, including preparing/analyzing data, developing and programming; conducting statistical analyses to derive conclusions from the studies, assisting for or directly preparing presentations of results.
  • Support in the implementation and deployment of new statistical and machine learning technologies on big data platforms, in collaboration with technology teams. Productionize stats and ML with DevOps and MLOps best practices using CI/CD concepts on big data technologies including Microsoft Azure.
  • Design and execute quantitative and qualitative analysis in collaboration with BU engagement manager and country local offices.
  • Within a project team, ensure efficient and effective project delivery to meet client expectations.

What we are looking for:

  • Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics/Econometrics or related fields with a strong focus on quantitative analysis, including an acceptable number of courses in statistical methods and theory.
  • At least 4 years of professional experience in quantitative data analyses, ideally with market research or health and life sciences project experience.
  • Very knowledgeable in the field of data science, statistics, econometric and machine learning methodologies as well as experience in analyzing large data sets.
  • Up to date in machine learning and data mining techniques. Good understanding of data science project management.
  • Very good knowledge and skills on using Python / PySpark / SQL; MS Office proficiency.
  • DevOps, big data technologies, Hadoop, Microsoft Azure, CDSW, Airflow, Git, Docker
  • Strong analytical, interpretive and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to deliver high quality work within challenging timelines.
  • A commitment to working independently and collaboratively with others in and across the team.
  • Proven time management and personal organizational skills.
  • Good communication and presentation skills.
  • Clear written and oral communication concerning the technical aspects of a project and the ability to develop usable documentation.
  • German language skills and fluent in English (spoken and written).
