Job Description

The Sr. Data Scientist role at naviHealth will report to the VP or Director, Data Science and will build/enhance algorithms and analytic tools that will promote enhanced decision support and improved solutions for our internal/external customers. As a Sr. Data Scientist, you will apply your strong machine learning, and complex data wrangling skills to build and deploy cutting edge next generation AI/ML products / solutions. You will collaborate with business partners, product and IT to define the problem / hypothesis and develop machine learning models to derive business value. Responsibilities

  • Identify, analyze and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
  • Deliver actionable recommendations, support implementation of solutions
  • Create, model and implement new data architecture, algorithms and analytics solutions
  • Collaborate with business leadership to develop ongoing dialogue with respect to our business model, prioritized challenges and how information can be wielded strategically to solve them
  • Employ structured approach to leveraging large data sets to uncover new business insights that will support the evolution of our products and services
  • Apply demonstrable statistical, mathematical, predictive modelling, data mining and business strategy experience to test and validate business hypotheses
  • Create examples, prototypes, visualizations or demonstrations to help leadership better understand the work and recommendations

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Applied Sciences, Bio-informatics, or Econometrics required (PhD in any of the above disciplines preferred)
  • 5+ years hands on modeling skills and strong analytic programming skills using Python and standard libraries such as scikit-learn, Pandas, Tensor Flow, and Spark ML.model development and architecture
  • Expert level experience in advanced analytics solutions, preferable Python/R
  • Demonstrable statistical, mathematical, predictive modeling and business strategy skills
  • Experience with relational, OLTP, SQL, dimensional and OLAP databases and technologies, Hadoop/Cloud, data warehousing, algorithm development and deployment (supervised and unsupervised and machine learning
  • Experience with healthcare claims data, medical coding (ICD, CPT, DRG) preferred
  • Experience with machine learning with large data sets – Spark, Hadoop, etc., preferred
  • Experience with Data Mining, Statistics (regression, clustering, decision trees, hypergraphs, etc.), Advanced Mathematics, Simulation, Scenario Analysis and Modeling, preferred
  • Strong project leadership and management skills required
  • Strong written, verbal, and visual communications skills required.
  • Consultative experience – ability to structure business problems and devise practical approach to solutions, preferred
  • Display an instinctive curiosity, innovative thought and pragmatic application of both in pursuit of usable business solutions
