About the role

We are looking for a talented Data Scientist for Data Integrity and Analytics group within our AI / Data Science organization to join us in our commitment to improve the quality of care for patients in every community across the nation. You will work with a growing multidisciplinary team of talented data scientists, statisticians, engineers, and researchers to leverage unique healthcare data to create new and improved methods for assessing and predicting the quality of care delivered by healthcare providers.

Your responsibilities will include establishing the Data Integrity & Analytics team as a core group within the AI / Data Science organization and working with various stakeholders to establish data quality monitoring and standard reporting analytics. This team will advance the company’s data strategy, establish data quality standards and best practices, support harmonization of datasets from different sources, as well as establish and automate processes to deliver data insights in a rapid and repeatable way. You will play a key role in improving our data and improving access to insights from our data.

You will be expected to:

  • Manage analytics projects from inception to final delivery with ability to support execution as needed.
  • Define analyses plans and standard data processing methods in collaboration with stakeholders within Data Science as well as across the organization. 
  • Develop the data science practice by setting best practices, developing processes, standard tooling, and a culture of continuous learning / innovation.
  • Manage and execute data analyses within as well as outside of standard workflows
  • Ensure team delivers accurate data reports with compelling data visualizations
  • Develop and establish processes to conduct quality assurance for analyses to ensure there are no errors in results or in the interpretation of the output
  • Translate findings into recommendations, strategy, and change management practices for stakeholders to employ
  • Hire, develop, and retain of data scientists dedicated to reporting analytics and data quality and integrity initiatives
  • Partners with internal stakeholders to build solutions and processes that unify data sources and remove or mitigate obstacles to data analysis
  • Create processing frameworks to perform data harmonization across multiple types of data (claims, radiological protocols, radiologist National Provider Identifier and more)
  • Develop and establish checks and monitoring of data quality to ensure the highest levels of data integrity throughout DS processes.

Requirements

  • M.S. or B.S. in mathematics, statistics, engineering, computer science, physics, economics or a related field. 
  • At least 3+ years for MS and 5+ years of experience for BS working in a Data Analyst, Business Analyst or similar role with a focus on data reporting and/or data quality
  • Experience analyzing data from claims, EMR, and/or structured medical documentation
  • Experience building end-to-end data integrity and analysis processes
  • Highly proficient in at least one modern language useful for statistics and/or data processing (e.g. Python, R)
  • Highly proficient with relational databases and SQL
  • Proficiency with large-scale distributed data warehousing or processing platforms (e.g. Redshift, Hive, Spark, Elastic MapReduce) 
  • Experience producing interactive data visualizations to communicate findings (i.e. D3.js, R Shiny, Qlikview, Tableau, etc) is a plus
  • Ability to explain analysis findings in clear terms that can be understood by non-technical audiences
  • Experience working with clients and managing internal and external relationships
  • Willingness to dive in hands-on with to contribute in implementation, analyses and support data questions as the team grows.
  • Strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills and can-do attitude to work and thrive in a fast paced environment
