Within the AWS WWCO Commercial Sales organization, the Specialized Sales Operations team is responsible for supporting Leadership, Sales, and Operational teams in achieving organizational objectives and driving continuous improvements in field productivity. We drive effectiveness, predictability, and deliver a “run the business” cadence that allows for the field to serve customers in the way customers want to be served.

The AWS Specialized Sales Operations team is looking for an experienced Leader for the Data Science and Engineering team. In this strategic role, you will define and build a data infrastructure architecture to enable the Worldwide Specialists organization with predictive reporting & insights. You will hire and lead a team of data engineers and data scientists responsible for developing a robust data foundation powering all global dashboards for the Specialist organization. You will lead the team to constantly improve the data infrastructure & data models, solving complex data problems & deploying data science models and solutions. The leader will establish relationships with key stakeholders such as Sales Operations, Sales and other Data Engineers and Business Intelligence teams to align on the right technical architecture and data models. In addition, you will be responsible for defining and executing the data science roadmap to enhance sales performance reporting and insights. The Leader will embody the urgency to deliver solutions in production as well as the understanding to develop long-term data & data science strategy.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's Degree in Data Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science or related field
• 7+ years of Data Engineering, Data Modeling & Data Science Experience
• 7+ years of leadership experience in Data Engineering or Data Science (managing and leading teams to deliver software, BI or analytics solutions)
• Experience presenting to Director or C-level Audience (Senior Executives)
• Experience building a BI data strategy (architecture & data model) & implementing it to support thousands of users
• SQL Proficient, Excel Proficient, plus Experience with Data Visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau or similar)
• Experience with Python, R, Scala, C, C++ ,GPU programming experience and experimental design
• Experience with deploying enterprise grade BI/AI/Machine learning solutions for large scale data environments

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Passion to keep current on emerging technologies in the big data, data science, artificial intelligence and machine learning space
• Experience working with sales or financial data
• Experience working in an agile development environment
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations
• Meets/exceeds functional/technical depth and complexity for this role
