Amazon Web Services Talent Acquisition’s Global Talent Intelligence (AWS TA GTI) team is seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer to join its team!

AWS TA GTI’s mission is to accelerate the process of finding candidates of all backgrounds using research, insights and program management tools to enable Amazon Web Services Talent Acquisition’s (AWS TA) teams to reach their strategic goals. AWS GTI also aims at enabling AWS business partners to make informed talent decisions.

The AWS GTI Global Program aims to be a force multiplier for AWS TA by empowering recruiters and sourcers with research and talent intelligence, to create efficient talent strategies for today and cultivate talent pools to support AWS’ growth tomorrow.

Answer yes to any of these and you’ll fit right in here. We are looking for Business Intelligence Engineer professionals to drive our analytical revolution in the Talent Acquisition (TA) space. You get the opportunity to work on a ground up rebuild of our analytical capabilities, from data ingress, to complex business transformations to end user reporting and beyond. In this role, you will invent and build on behalf of candidates, experiment and test new ideas, evangelize successes, and drive consistency.
The ideal candidate is an independent Business Intelligence Engineer who can source data, cleanse, analyze, refine, enrich, model, present, automate and document our business data pipelines. You will always be on the lookout for ways to optimize the information flow process, stay on top of latest trends in data warehousing and be able to coordinate and work on multiple, related projects.

Key job responsibilities

  • Collaborate with recruiting operations, data scientists, and business leaders to define business processes and provide analytical support
  • Leverage code to analyze complex datasets and design, develop and evaluate data transformations to solve specific business problems
  • Build scalable, efficient, and automated data processes to facilitate customer-facing reporting
  • Automate TA processes to streamline business operations
  • Communicate verbally or in writing to business customers / leadership to sharing insights and recommendations
  • Share best practices with recruitment teams and partner cross-functionally with other AWS TA Teams to create processes that impact positive candidate engagement
  • Successfully write narratives that are both project based (deliverables, timelines, formal tracking processes, etc.) and program based tailored to the audience in order to maximize impact and understanding
  • Develop and lead special projects that have an AWS TA Wide that impact at scale
  • Amply your customers voices with a data-driven approach during AWS TA organizational discussions to ensure their businesses unique challenges are represented in the decision making process
  • Influence and educate peers regarding research and sourcing best practices that lead to successful outcomes throughout AWS TA and Amazon TA

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of relevant work experience in analytics, data engineering, business intelligence or related field
  • Experience using, writing and optimizing SQL queries in a business environment
  • Knowledge of data warehouse technical architecture, infrastructure components, ETL and reporting/analytic tools and environments
  • Experience in business intelligence and visualization software (Looker, Tableau, Qlikview, MicroStrategy, QuickSight)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Graduate degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, related technical field
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in analytics, data engineering, business intelligence or related field
  • Strong communication and writing skills necessary to build effective working relationships and positively influence decision making
  • Strong business acumen
  • The pay range for this position in Colorado is $151,700-192,400 yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on bonus and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
