AWS is hiring a Business Intelligence Engineer to ensure clear business visibility and empower fact based decision making. As a Business Intelligence Engineer, you will be in on the ground floor, shaping the way enablement performance is measured, defining what questions should be asked, and scaling analytics methods and tools to support our growing business, leading the way for high quality, high velocity decisions for your team.

For this role, we’re looking for an experienced business intelligence engineer who will help drive WW Enablement by helping us define and track KPIs, support strategic initiatives, and evaluate business impacts. You will be responsible for complex data analysis, dashboard/report building, and metrics reviews. You’ll help create self-service reporting tools to support the entire team. We’re seeking an individual who has the vision and strategic thinking skills to make analytics best in class at AWS.

LOCATION: Strong preference for this role to reside in Seattle, WA USA but we are open to these additional locations: Dallas, TX USA, Boston, MA USA, Arlington, VA USA. Relocation assistance is available from within the United States.

Key job responsibilities

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Operationalize data processes: provide the team with ad-hoc analysis, automated dashboards, and self-service reporting tools so that everyone gets a good sense of the state of the business
  • Establish analytical framework for your team: partner across stakeholders to define measurement approach, quantify and evaluate success, and develop KPIs and guide tracking efforts for ongoing measurement and reporting
  • Tackle complex and ambiguous analytic projects: simplify and resolve ambiguity as much as possible in all stages, comfortably flex among various tools to answer complicated questions, and accurately identify the trade-offs between speed and quality and apply or route work as necessary
  • Efficiently prioritize and execute what’s important: prioritize for both speed and impact, and aggressively optimize for return by focusing on work output that scales well and is reusable
  • Maintain a culture of high quality output and exceptional customer service: effectively communicate at all levels, ensure that work gets done well and on time, respond effectively to unexpected obstacles and reallocate resources as necessary
  • Continuously review current reporting tools and drive ongoing improvements to ensure that they are streamlined and effective and can provide analysis that will enable the team to understand the root causes of key metrics, and measure process changes and improvements of these.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Economics, or STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) fields.
  • 4+ years of experience as a business analyst or BIE in an environment in which complex modeling and analysis is performed.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in SQL at an advanced level.
  • Proficiency in building data visualization dashboards/reports using AWS Quicksight / Tableau / Qlikview / Birst / Mircostrategy. Proficiency in understanding and establishing necessary data artifacts for reporting consumption.
  • Proficiency in building and maintaining ETL pipelines using SQL. Proven analytical and quantitative skills and an ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, develop business cases, influence business decisions, and complete root cause analyses.

The pay range for this position in Colorado is $118,200 - $174,600[yr]; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on bonus and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. The pay range for this position in Jersey City is $109,200- $215,300 [yr]; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on bonus and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. This information is provided per the Pay Transparency Regulation of Jersey City Municipal Code. Base pay information is based on market location. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of professional experience in business intelligence or data analysis.
  • 5+ years of experience in building tables, ETL pipelines to optimize reporting architecture.
  • +4 years of experience working with CRM systems like Salesforce.
  • Experience in data engineering and big data solutions such as AWS Redshift and Apache Spark
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis tools, such as R, Python, or SAS.
  • Experience with sales and/or sales enablement.
  • Familiarity with AWS services.
  • Proven track record of using data to generate insight and drive business results.
  • Fluency in data analysis and communication around data.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Sound business judgment; strategic and analytical capabilities.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask; ability to adapt to a fast moving environment.
