Job Description

The AWS InOperations Team is looking for an experienced Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE) with a passion to work with complex problems to create the best user experience for all stakeholders. The ideal candidate is passionate about providing insights from data and have experience in working with large data sets. They are organized, efficient ,and insist on the highest standards even when quick-paced decisions are required. The candidate is an independent self-starter who thrives on owning projects. They will be required to make important decisions on the technical structure of the project from data pipelines, data models, and roadmaps globally.

Key job responsibilities

• Translate business questions and concerns into specific analytical questions that can be answered with available data using BI tools and produce the required data when it is not available.
• Utilize code (SQL or Tableau etc.) for analyzing data and building statistical models.
• Ensure data quality throughout all stages of acquisition and processing, including areas such as data sourcing/collection, transformation, and cross-lingual alignment/mapping, etc.
• Collaborate with partnering teams to drive insightful analysis.
• Develop efficient data querying and model infrastructure for long term growth.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Data Science, Analytics, Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Statistics, Logistics or related industry experience.
• 2+ years experience with data querying languages (e.g. SQL) and data visualization tool (e.g. Tableau).
• Experience articulating business questions and using quantitative techniques to arrive at a solution using available data.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated experience engaging and influencing across functions including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams.
• Ability to thrive in ambiguous situations
• 5+ years experience with Tableau

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Strong fundamentals in problem-solving, design and complexity analysis
• Experience in data mining, SQL, ETL as well as data visualization alternates to Tableau (QuickSite, Salesforce, etc.)
