Job Description

The Amazon Web Services (AWS)‘s Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) mission is to enable the AWS field organization to be the most efficient and effective in the world. We are building a security team to protect AWS customers and the SMGS computing environment that enables the AWS Sales and AWS Marketing teams.

SMGS makes broad use of AWS platforms and technologies including cloud services, identity and access management, big data and analytics, all operating at massive scale with consistent growth. SMGS Security helps internal teams with each step of deployment and leads inspection of SMGS’s security posture. In this expanding environment, our highly collaborative team is committed to each team member’s growth as our business and team grows.

SMGS Security is looking for a Business Intelligence Engineer to build a security platform and actionable dashboards. These tools provide a data-driven experience for SMGS teams and ensure that senior leaders can assess and prioritize security work to safeguard Amazon customers. At Amazon, security is our highest priority and the SMGS Security team is responsible for defining and driving large software security initiatives across Amazon. We are looking for an engineer that will automate all metrics, analyze all aspects of our business, and provide recommendations that directly affect SMGS’s security and risk management priorities.

Are you passionate about solving business problems through data driven decision making? You will own data analytics projects from beginning to end, using business intelligence tools to drive key recommendations and produce planning models, forecasting, and analysis. Your analysis will contribute deeply to the development of our strategy and drive impact against our SMGS Security business objectives. You will work closely with security engineering teams and executives to achieve business objectives and communicate insights to key stakeholders. You will recognize and adopt best practices in reporting and analysis, including data integrity, analysis, validation, and documentation and drive results in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment

You understand that automation is key to your success and constantly find ways to automate and get more value from derived datasets. You recognize that there is a balance between personally finding new insights and delivering automation for others to construct new insights. Your automation work enables the team to scale business analysis and make use of subject matter experts, while you continuously deliver automated metrics and insights. We want you because you have a relentlessly high bar when solving hard data-driven problems at scale and relish the opportunity to challenge the norm.

Key responsibilities include:
