Amazon Web Services Talent Acquisition’s Global Talent Intelligence (AWS TA GTI) team is seeking a Data Scientist to join its team!

AWS TA GTI’s mission is to accelerate the process of finding candidates of all backgrounds using research, insights and program management tools to enable Amazon Web Services Talent Acquisition’s (AWS TA) teams to reach their strategic goals. AWS GTI also aims at enabling AWS business partners to make informed talent decisions.

The AWS GTI Global Program aims to be a force multiplier for AWS TA by empowering recruiters and sourcers with research and talent intelligence, to create efficient talent strategies for today and cultivate talent pools to support AWS’ growth tomorrow.

The Data Scientist's will be leading a team of 4 Business Intelligence Engineers. You will be responsible for shaping how GTI approaches analytical heavy engagements and will influence how the Talent Acquisition team thinks about sourcing and recruiting. You will come in and establish relationships across TA and the business to pinpoint specific business problems and people constraints and seek to provide insights to unlock further Talent Acquisition development and growth for AWS as a whole. This is a unique opportunity to join the AWS business and help it shape its long term Talent Acquisition strategy as it continues to pioneer in the cloud computing industry.

Key job responsibilities

  • Lead a team of 4 Business Intelligence Engineers by providing vision and individual mentorship on statistical methods and determining causation versus correlation.
  • Set data and analytics engagement model and best practices for the data and analytics team.
  • Collaborate to reflexion around GTI's product development, to scale research.
  • Partner with AWS executives to provide detailed, thought provoking analyses on the most recent Talent Acquisition related trends including but not limited to talent attraction, funnel efficiency, candidate experience.
  • Collaborate with recruiting operations, partner teams, and business leaders to define business processes and provide analytical support.
  • Assess team’s code to analyze complex datasets and design, develop and evaluate data transformations to solve specific business problems.
  • Review automated data processes built by the team to facilitate customer-facing reporting.
  • Write narratives that are both project based (deliverables, timelines, formal tracking processes, etc.) and program based tailored to the audience in order to maximize impact and understanding.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ Years of experience driving complex, enterprise-wide analyses to unlock business insights.
  • Intermediate to expert level knowledge of SQL and Python, as well as working with database architecture.
  • Experience in solving common statistical problems such as classification, regression, and clustering analysis, etc.
  • Experience in constructing anomaly detection across a diverse set of metrics and hierarchies.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations and drive actions.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Information Systems, Mathematics, or related technical/engineering field.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree in Statistics, Applied Math, Operations Research, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
  • Proficiency in Python programming is preferred.
  • Familiarity with AWS SageMaker is a plus.
  • Experience in implementing machine learning models in production to support real-time inference is a plus.
