AWS Americas Commercial Sales team is seeking an experienced and innovative Analytics leader to help shape the future of how we plan & deliver on our journey to provide right insight to the the right person at the right time. In this highly strategic role, you will be responsible to provide detailed reporting , analytics & insights in support of the sales teams continued rapid growth and expansion.

You will own a collection of business analytics, data science resources & leverage data engineering resources from your partner teams to drive innovation at the edge (close to sales teams and customers) .The candidate will need to be comfortable with ambiguity in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment, and able to think big while paying careful attention to detail.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Partner with Field Sales Ops , Strategy & planning, Sales enablement teams, Central business analysts & data engineering teams to help deliver customer obsessed outcomes for our sellers.
• Learn and understand a broad range of Amazon’s data resources and know when, how, and which to use and which not to at any given time.
• Supervise the creation and implementation of new reporting and analyses: data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation.
• Be a “doer” as well as a leader – be a data and analytics expert that your team can turn to for inspiration and hands-on guidance. Be able to produce individual analytics work products as needed while continuing to manage the work of the team.
• Design analytics solutions to measure program impact, identify trends and hot spots, and influence product/program roadmaps
• Hire, develop and mentor a team of high-performance Business Insights leaders ( analysts & data scientists)
• Demonstrated ability to engage with and influence Executive Leadership teams in order to drive alignment

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in an analytical area such as Computer Science, Management information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering or similar field
• 8+ years total work experience with 5+ years’ experience working with large scale complicated datasets; experience with relevant technologies BI visualization tools

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Demonstrated ability to manage large scale projects or programs including work prioritization, planning, and coordination
• Strong communication and data presentation skills, experience analyzing data and communicating the results to senior business leaders
• Ability to work cross-functionally, building and maintaining trust with internal stakeholders
• MBA, Master’s or Doctorate degree in math, computer science, engineering, finance, statistics, or a related technical field
• Experience designing and building self-service analytics, or big data solutions using AWS and Amazon tools and services
• 2+ years of experience managing teams of Machine Learning, and or Data Science professionals
• Proven ability to solve complex quantitative business challenges; experience in the development of pricing analysis is a plus.
